Description Brion Vibber 2004-09-06 08:16:49 UTC
This is a tracking bug for problems with the PostgreSQL support.
Comment 1 Domas Mituzas 2004-09-06 10:04:01 UTC
PostgreSQL support is experimental yet, but is getting better and better :)
Comment 2 Brion Vibber 2005-06-15 19:37:24 UTC
Actually PostgreSQL support is getting worse and worse, as it hasn't been
maintained since major schema changes were made... :)
Comment 3 Lars Roland 2005-08-04 14:40:45 UTC
Is there some place where a "PostgreSQL Bounty" can be made for mediawiki (i.e.
where I can donate 500$ to the person who make this works or somthing like this)
- I think there are a lot of us postgres user out there who are tired of having
to install mysql just to run our wiki. Is there any work on DB abstration in
mediawiki going on ? - I noticed some of the postgres/oracle problems stems from
MySQL's incorrect use of quoting and faulty SQL syntax - these problems could be
overcome by DB abstraction.
Comment 4 Robert Treat 2006-09-01 17:12:48 UTC
For more up-to-date information on the state of PostgreSQL in mediawiki, please
refer to the bugs listed below in the "depends on" section. The quick summary is
that PostgreSQL support is back on track, though we would encourage more
developers to get involved.
Comment 5 Aryeh Gregor (not reading bugmail, please e-mail directly) 2008-07-18 18:18:27 UTC
Adding pgsql keyword to summary to help searches.

It's a tracking bug, so it's not supposed to be closed at all, ever.
Comment 10 Andrew Garrett 2009-07-29 16:39:04 UTC
Adding 'tracking' keyword.

How can we have a tracking bug dupe a keyword? should we?
Comment 12 Karun 2012-09-08 00:09:36 UTC
Is this tracking bug for problems only with Mediawiki, or also extensions?

This is fine to use it for extensions too.
