Hallo! Sorry for this: If you edit [[eo:André MALRAUX]] http://eo.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Andr%C3%A9_MALRAUX&action=edit you will see InterLanguage links as: [[bg:Андре Малро]] [[de:André Malraux]] [[en:André Malraux]] [[es:André Malraux]] [[fr:André Malraux]] [[ja:アンドレ・マルロー]] [[pl:André Malraux]] [[ro:André Malraux]] However Esperanto magical conversion is activated for InterLanguage links which means that [[de:André Malraŭ]] http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andr%C3%A9_Malra%C5%AD is generated and not [[de:André Malraux]] http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andr%C3%A9_Malraux . Hope that fixing this is possible soon. Thanks in advance for all your efforts. Best regards Reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
addendum Note: The InterLanguage links at [[eo:Aldous HUXLEY]] will work (*now* - at this moment in time) because they contain: [[da:Aldous Huxxley]] [[de:Aldous Huxxley]] [[en:Aldous Huxxley]] [[es:Aldous Huxxley]] [[eu:Aldous Huxxley]] [[fi:Aldous Huxxley]] [[fr:Aldous Huxxley]] ... The coding used u+x+x is not compatible with the KISS principle necessary for "copies and pasts". Best regards Reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
addition related to comment #1 > Note: The InterLanguage links at [[eo:Aldous HUXLEY]] will work (*now* - at this > moment in time) because they contain: > > [[da:Aldous Huxxley]] ... see http://eo.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Aldous_HUXLEY&diff=274816&oldid=267002 bot software should be fixed to whatever method would be (re)implemented
Hallo! It seems to be questionable - if the requirement of this bug can be implemented at all - if it makes sense - if it can cover all cases. Please note - that the French language has a lot of words and names containing "aux" - see [[la:Specialis:Allpages/Crux]] - see [[en:Jiangxi]] using "gx" which differs from "ĝ" - there are projects where both forms "gx" and "ĝ" are used: -- http://en.wiktionary.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Allpages/%C4%88 -- http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/%C4%88efpa%C4%9Do:Esperanto -- commons: meta: etc. - there are other projects in Esperanto then Wikipedia ( [[eo:Speciala:Allpages/Willy_VANDERSTEEN]] ) -- http://eo.wiktionary.org/w/index.php?title=Speciala:Allpages -- http://eo.wikibooks.org/w/index.php?title=Speciala:Allpages -- http://eo.wikiquote.org/w/index.php?title=Speciala:Allpages I see no simple way that the "editor" can distinguish links to other languages / other projects and generate either the "aux" variant or "aŭ" variant etc. because it would require atributes in the interlanguage table. Maybe the simplest way would be keep the actual *escape* sequence in Esperanto projects: [[eo:Aldous HUXLEY]] would contain *da:Aldous_Huxxley* which would generate [[da:Aldous_Huxley]]. This must be communicated trough village pumps, mailing lists. *Note:* This solution contradicts copy and past. Bot software should be adapted / updated if necessary. Dozens of InterLanguage links from Esperanto projects to other languages must be fixed. Best regards Reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
changed summary to oposit from *deactivate* Esperanto magical conversion for InterLanguage links in Esperanto projects to *keep* Esperanto magical conversion for InterLanguage links in projects with content language = Esperanto
The entire text field is translated on input; the actual stored text contains no double-Xs. There's no way to magically distinguish what you "meant" not to be translated. If you want a machine interface for the wiki for bots to use instead of the human one, please write one.
