Enable UploadWizard for Hindi Wikipedia as per following 'wmgUseUploadWizard' => array( 'default' => false, 'hiwiki' => true, Local consensus can be found here- http://hi.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%A4%B5%E0%A4%BF%E0%A4%95%E0%A4%BF%E0%A4%AA%E0%A5%80%E0%A4%A1%E0%A4%BF%E0%A4%AF%E0%A4%BE:%E0%A4%A8%E0%A4%AF%E0%A5%80_%E0%A4%B8%E0%A5%81%E0%A4%B5%E0%A4%BF%E0%A4%A7%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%8F%E0%A4%81, Regards Mayur
At the moment there are no hindi translations for Upload Wizard, so enabling it is silly at this point. Please re-open when translations are somewhere near complete As an aside, I'm not sure if UploadWizard is mature enough to be installed on other projects
Sorry, we will make translation for all messages as soon as this extension is installed, about 11 user have given their support for this extension. There are many extensions for which localization has not been done as per requirement.Plz don't close such bugs only due to translation.

It's a valid way to deal with the bugs. I'm RESOLVING it LATER this time, as in, we'll deal with it LATER AFTER the issues have been fixed It's still to be determined whether it's fit/allowable to be installed per the WMF's decision
I am reopening this bug as I don't see any issue to Wikimedia foundation regarding this extension bcoz this extension has no security concern and it is already running smoothly on Wikimedia commons. if still you think to take this to WMF then We are ready to do this.

First please get the extension translated. Then come back, and we can look at enabling it

Translations per project don't make it into the code base (i.e. subversion). Thus they are not available to others. The point of per-project translations is for local customization; they are not meant to supplant the default translation in any way whatsoever. For example, in MediaWiki:Newarticletext you may want the link to go to a different location than the standard one, or you may want to add additional information regarding formatting. That is the sort of thing that gets done locally.
Ok, but I am not satisfied with this new funda of translation that first make translation then a extension will be enabled. It is first time when I am observing such type of Activities by Developers. Our users are not used to translate wiki that why i requested for local translation. But Its OK I myself make translation there on translate wiki.
I would recommend walking a few folks through the process of getting set up on translatewiki; the tools are quite nice and they'll be helping out all potential users of MediaWiki in hindi in the future. I can appreciate that it will take a little bit of time to get used to the environment over there but I think you'll like it.

Release should be coordinated with and approved by NeilK first, he's on CC. Neil, can this be enabled on hiwiki? Or should hiwiki wait until it is enabled by default?

I think we as a translator have done our part as per requirement of Developers.if this extension has no security concern then it should be enabled on hi wiki now.
Hello -- I'm the main developer on UploadWizard. I think it could definitely work on HI wiki, but we just have to understand your use cases. Right now UploadWizard is focused on Commons' needs. The Wiki Loves Monuments project is coming up and we're using that to make UploadWizard more configurable for different projects and wikis. - What licenses are you going to need? Does HI wiki allow fair use? Do you want to "transparently" upload to Commons if the license is compatible with Commons? (in theory we can do this but we've never tried). Do you want the HI Commons licensing tutorial or some other splash screen? - As mentioned above, we need translations for HI? - Any layout bugs that might arise in HI FYI, although I have an Indian name, I don't speak any Indian languages.

Just (In reply to comment #14) > (In reply to comment #13) > We just want to use it as Wikimedia commons and We are also opting licensees > tutorial available in common, that why i filed separate bug got this. To clarify, are you saying: 1 - You want the exact same licenses as Commons, except it uploads to HI Wikipedia. You do not want fair use media. 2 - You want it to upload to Commons, but the page should be on HI Wikipedia. 3 - You just want your "Upload a file" link to go to http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard except with a HI interface. Also, presumably, at the "Use" step, do you want the links to be customized for HI wikipedia?

We want this extension to be enabled on hindi WIkipedia, Commons don't allow use of non-free media, So we preferably don't want to transfer the image to common to avoid any contovery between commons admin and hi wiki admins. We want this extension with standard liecenses few of them will be customised for hi wiki.
We want some other licences also which are available for Wikipedia, but not commons. We just want a similar upload wizard so users get experienced with the licencing and as its a interactive wizard, it helps in easier uploading.
Blocking on #29955, which should make UploadWizard compatible with fair use uploading
Marking later, blocked until bug 29955 is fixed When it's fixed, please feel free to reopen the bug
