Description Danny B. 2010-02-01 15:40:08 UTC
Current Bugzilla linkifier linkifies only bug 20000 but not bug
20000 (bug<newline>20000).
Comment 1 Danny B. 2010-02-07 03:45:48 UTC
Same problem with [[w:Main Page]] vs. [[w:Main
Page]] ([[w:Main<newline>Page]]).
Comment 2 Happy-melon 2010-02-08 20:12:40 UTC
Why should it? The MW parser doesn't link when the syntax incorporates a linebreak, why should bugzilla?

WONTFIX.
Comment 3 Danny B. 2010-02-08 20:26:36 UTC
a) Bugzilla isn't MediaWiki application.

b) Bug is not only about wikilink within brackets (by the way, unlike MediaWiki, Bugzilla linkifies bracktes along and unlike MediaWiki, Bugzilla wraps)

c) You can't influence word wrapping in Bugzilla, since it's automatical, thus you never know, if such combination will be wrapped inside or not. It's escpecially hard to predict it in longer text. I intentionally forced the wrap above, of course, from this reasons, to show what it doesn't do but should.

d) Any reason why should wrapped links (to bug or wiki) be treated differently?

e) Links are indisputable handy, why should we avoid them? Machines and programs should serve to humans and not vice versa.

f) If I recall correctly, it used to linkify wrapped bug links. I don't remember about wrapped wikilinks, though.

Not having a preview is certainly a legitimate issue with bugzilla :-D

doesn't bugzilla have a bugzilla we can file this in ?
Comment 7 Happy-melon 2010-02-08 20:35:10 UTC
I agree to the extent that linewraps enforced by bugzilla should not affect linkification. However, that's an upstream problem, not one with WMF's installation.
Comment 8 Danny B. 2010-02-08 20:36:45 UTC
AFAIK it's not Bugzilla issue, it's custom Wikimedia add-on. IIRC, there's source for that somewhere in SVN, but also IIRC, that source isn't the last one used on live server. I'll try to find it.
Comment 10 Danny B. 2010-02-08 20:40:36 UTC
I'm wrong ;-) but so far I remember there's something like that used in our instance of Bugzilla too.
Comment 11 Conrad Irwin 2010-02-08 20:42:35 UTC
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105865 - looks like this is as much of a problem as our PST inside gallery bug :)
Comment 12 Chad H. 2010-02-12 16:08:21 UTC
Tweaked summary.

Short description: we want to linkify wrapped wikilinks (which is maintained at http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/tools/bugzilla-3.4.4/). Linking wrapped bug numbers is an upstream bug, linked in comment 11.
