Description Tisza Gergő 2009-09-17 11:05:50 UTC
Trying to edit with IE8 eats up hundreds of megabytes of memory resulting in swapping hell, the whole OS becomes unusable. After a lot of time it says "Out of memory at line 76" and the process is automatically shot down.

Reported and confirmed on IE 8.0.6001.18702 / XP SP3.
Comment 1 Tisza Gergő 2009-09-17 11:08:57 UTC
It is related to the new toolbar, not the skin itself. Using Vector with old toolbar works fine (throws an error saying "Object doesn't support this property or method index.php?title=-&action=raw&gen=js&useskin=vector&urid=239z2, line 1097 character 1" but it doesn't have any obvious effect so probably unrelated), using Monobook with new toolbar kills IE8.
Comment 2 Tisza Gergő 2009-09-17 11:11:39 UTC
Doesn't look like normal memory leaks, the memory usage can grow over 1G very quickly, but then shrinks back and starts growing again.
Comment 3 Tisza Gergő 2009-09-17 11:20:54 UTC
When I try this with the developer toolbar open, it writes "Out of memory plugins.combined.min.js?22 line 76 char 345" to the console before killing the process.
