Screen dump will follow. Hallo! As far as I know RTL wikis do not display icons in Monobook skin. This includes the user icon, link icon, mailto icon, irc icon etc. However if you log in to a LTR wiki and select a RTL user interface the user icon will not disapear. It will be misadjusted. If it is not possible to adjust it properly it would be better to hide it. I have no clue if Monobooks and / or Java have control over / would kwnow - if the content language is LTR or RTL - if the selected user interface is LTR or RTL See related bugs: bug 2341: missing space between user and user talk links if user name is RTL only Please add dependencies on browser specific tracking bugs if you can identify these. Thanks in advance for all your efforts! best regards reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
Created attachment 1061 [details] screen dump for bug 03856
required actions: log in at [[eo:Speciala:Preferences]] (I presume your user name contains latin characters only) and change preferences to language=*he* go to http://eo.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=page_does_not_exist&action=edit you will see there the overlapping icons
better bug title (?) BiDi: Fix skins in wikis with LTR content language for proper display of the user icon when a RTL user interface is selected *note* some actions might be required to fix the user icon / the apearance of "some icons" in a RTL wiki when a LTR user interface is selected
changed summary from BiDi: hide user icon also in wikis with LTR content language when a RTL user interface is selected to BiDi: user icon should be displayed properly regardles of the LTR / RTL orientation of the content language / user interface language This request is handled more generaly in Bug 4236: BiDi support for the personal toolbar The request to hide the user icon is not valid any more. marking as depending on bug 4236 removed direct dependency to bug 745 Bug 745: RTL/bidirectional issues (tracking)

also, u try to fix the bug or make just add bug to another bug!? I'm still looking for answers :) best regards
I'm not seeing this bug in Firefox 3 at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page?uselang=he
Let's keep this bug restricted to the user icon only, and keep bug 16502 for the external link icons. They seem to be entirely different problems.
