Description Andreas Tille 2004-12-03 19:22:57 UTC
I was asked to upload large images for better quality in case a user wants a
printed version. Unfortunetely the display in a browser of these large images
sucks because you can only see the upper left corner in the beginning and have
to scroll while always seeing parts of the image. IMHO it would be necessary to
have a browser preview. The very best version of such kind of browser preview
would be if users could set some preferences how images should be displayed. SO
every single user is able to adjust to his own browser od personal preferences
(perhaps some
people like to view only parts of the image as it is currently done).

Kind regards and thanks for maintaining WikiPedia

         Andreas.

The new version 1.4 scales down large images on the description page.
We'll be rolling this version out on Wikimedia sites over the next couple of
weeks.
