Description parker007 2007-03-12 21:22:16 UTC
Unlike Special:DoubleRedirects when a double redirect is fixed it dissapears from the
list, while when a Special:BrokenRedirects is fixed it stays on the list. Requesting
patch to bring Special:BrokenRedirects up to date.
Comment 1 Rob Church 2007-03-12 21:24:23 UTC
Report pages are cached; this is updated on a periodic basis.
Comment 2 parker007 2007-03-12 21:28:08 UTC
The double redirects fixes immediately though, even though that is cached!
Comment 3 vic.garin 2007-03-13 06:30:44 UTC
Rob Church what are you taking? Steroids?

Explain this: how come when someone fixes a Special:DoubleRedirects, (which is
cached; and updated on a periodic basis), disappears from the list, while
Special:BrokenRedirects doesnt?

I am proceeding with opening this bug again.

Oh and Rob Church, I am going to assign you this bug. Because you need to Learn how
the wiki software works! Lets see you create a patch for this.
Comment 5 vic.garin 2007-03-13 06:37:33 UTC
web boy I hope you dont mind adding you to the cc. list, because of you amazing
talent to create patches, just in case Rob Church, doesn't come through for
Wikipedia!
Comment 6 Titoxd 2007-03-13 06:50:05 UTC
The Special:BrokenRedirects report is run at a certain time. It is *not* in real
time, because doing so would be a huge drag on resources. It may be done later,
when resources permit; however, there is nothing actually wrong with the software.

Now, please do not reopen this bug unless you're acting under the directions of
a developer, or unless you are one.
Comment 7 Rotem Liss 2007-03-13 14:36:32 UTC
I guess you mean the fact the double redirects disappear from the list when
fixed or deleted, while it is not done in the broken redirects page. In fact, it
*is* done for the broken redirects, but they don't disappear but get the HTML
<s></s> tags. If you see a link to a page that is not exist instead, it may be
Bug 7890.

I have blocked this person's BugZilla account for ludicrous behaviour.
