Description Dan Jacobson 2007-03-01 23:47:02 UTC
On my production systems, updating from 1.8.2 to 1.9.2 stalls at
"Deleting old default messages..."
Sure hope nothing important was supposed to happen after that.
Happens each time I run the script, and also on
taizhongbus.jidanni.org too.

$ /usr/local/php5/bin/php radioscanningtw.jidanni.org/maintenance/update.php
X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.1 ...
MediaWiki 1.9.2 Updater
...
Deleting old default messages...
Comment 1 Aryeh Gregor (not reading bugmail, please e-mail directly) 2007-03-02 00:25:33 UTC
It may take some time. How long does it stall for?
Comment 2 Rob Church 2007-03-02 14:20:27 UTC
In computing, we have some operations which take up time. Shocking though it is
in this modern era of fast computing, multi-cored processors and billions of
concurrent operations, the solution is simple.

Sit back and have a cup of tea.

[On a more serious note, Simetrical added a warning that the operation can take
some time.]
