Comment 2 Brion Vibber 2007-02-13 23:19:13 UTC
A number of customized messages appear there. What's actually wrong?
Comment 3 Cédric 2007-02-14 11:15:14 UTC
If I Clic on a MediaWiki message, the translation is still in memory... If I validate, the current
text is valid again... Must I do it for every messages?
Comment 4 Cédric 2007-02-21 20:57:29 UTC
I have corrected all and valid the translations of default textes in
http://oc.wikipedia.org/wiki/Especial:Allmessages.
Is it possible to valid the current text (in blue color)?
Regards

What do you mean by "valid" and "validate"? Blue messages are those that have
not been customized. I can confirm that MessagesOc.php as currently in
Subversion appears to be loading correctly. If you would like to submit your
changes for inclusion in the main message file (which will propagate to any
other Occitan projects too), at a minimum you have to give us a list of changes
*without* terms like "Wikipedia", custom styles, use of extensions, and other
site-specific things: i.e., each message should be a translation of the
equivalent *default* English message (with no customizations). We can't just
include your changes when they have Wikipedia-specific things like
[[oc:MediaWiki:anontalkpagetext]] buried there, which we might not spot.

If you would like to maximize your chances of the patch getting reviewed and
committed by developers, the best option is (I think) to use BetaWiki:
http://nike.users.idler.fi/betawiki/Process. Alternatively, you can follow the
instructions at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Localization, checking out via
Subversion and creating a unified diff to post.
Comment 6 Cédric 2007-02-22 19:59:36 UTC
I began to translate in beta wiki! So, if I undestand well, the betawiki current text of interface
appears in blue in the Wiki... Is it that?
Comment 7 Aryeh Gregor (not reading bugmail, please e-mail directly) 2007-02-22 21:09:49 UTC
Once you have a good translation, you can ask for it to be added to the
software, yes. That will make the uncustomized messages blue. Site-specific
messages will have to be customized and so will not be blue. This is the
intended behavior.
Comment 8 Cédric 2007-02-23 06:41:16 UTC
Where must I ask for it?
Comment 9 Aryeh Gregor (not reading bugmail, please e-mail directly) 2007-02-23 19:25:41 UTC
Ask Nikerabbit, presumably. See:
http://nike.users.idler.fi/betawiki/Translating:Intro and links from there.

Do NOT make any customizations to the meaning of the messages. Translate them
EXACTLY from English. Also, do NOT use extensions such as {{#if:}} and friends.
 These translations are bad:

http://nike.users.idler.fi/betawiki/J%C3%A4rjestelm%C3%A4viesti:Semiprotectedpagewarning/oc
http://nike.users.idler.fi/betawiki/J%C3%A4rjestelm%C3%A4viesti:Monobook.js/oc

Those are good to have on oc.wikipedia.org, but they should not be the default
(blue), they should be custom (green/red). Other translations seem good so far.
When you want your updates to be committed, ask:
http://nike.users.idler.fi/betawiki/User_talk:Nike

Ok! It's done! Thanks a lot! ~~~~

Seems to be fixes with r20146.
