The current CVS (27.10.2004) does not allow user #1 to edit MediaWiki pages - 

I issued the following command
INSERT INTO user_groups (ug_user,ug_group) VALUES (1,3);
but I cannot edit MediaWiki pages.

The 'sysops' group was missing the 'sysop' privilege. I've added an updater for it in CVS; run update.php to automatically fix the 
group definitions.
