With lynx 2.8.5-rel.5 with libwww-FM 2.14 and ncurses 5.4, some weird markup bugs occur (see also [[V3.5]] @ wikipedia, altough it doesn't exist the markup comes out distorted) -- everything except for links, headings, tables, etc is black on white instead of white on black (inverse attribute?). While I'm not sure it's not a bug in lynx or ncurses, it only seems to occour on wikipedia. Note: I left version at unspecified because the listbox is empty (JS i guess) :^)
Do you know how recent this is?
I noticed it a few times before, but didn't pay much attention to it because i thought it was a temporary problem. I'd say a few weeks to 2 months -- unfortunately i don't know for sure. Oh and BTW, it's pretty much a default slack 10.2 install -- i've been able to reproduce it with that install on 3 different machines.
Oddly enough, [[Signal-to-noise ratio]] shows the same behavior also. In total, [[V3.5]] shows all normal text red-on-black (color of bold text), [[Video game music culture]] black-on-white (color of inverse), and SNR as brown-on-white (color of image replacement such as alt/text attributes). It seems it's a bug in lynx -- I can't think of any markup attribute that would produce brown text in this configuration, and each is a "special color" only filled in by lynx itself.
I could not reproduce the issue, it was probably a bug in upstream packages. Seems very unlikely to be a bug in MediaWiki. I am now closing this 4 years old bug.
