Description Trijnstel 2014-09-25 13:03:08 UTC
While the global rename tool has been developed, it's not possible to search in the global rename log (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Log/gblrename) on the old or new account name, with or without the User: prefix. It's only possible to search on the name of the global renamer/steward, but as the log will only grow more and more it's impossible to do that when you don't know the name of the person who acted.

It was possible for the "old" rename tool to search on the old account name. See for example https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=renameuser&page=User%3A123chess456 (with the User: prefix). While the same is not working for the global rename tool: https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=gblrename&page=User%3AMinimaud
