Description Paolo Liberatore 2006-07-05 17:51:18 UTC
Feature request: a magic word (e.g., {{LASTUSER}}) that evaluates to the last
user editing a page. This would be useful as {{subst:LASTUSER}} in templates
like [[WP:PROD]], so that the name of the user adding the template is reported
in the page itself (so there is no need to check the whole history to find this
information). The problem with ~~~ is that it may contain a lot of code, which
may contain tags that are not properly nested.
Comment 1 freakofnurture 2006-07-05 18:03:21 UTC
hmm... maybe we should, on a related tangent, make [[Special:Preferences]] give
an error message if all tags are not properly closed.
Comment 2 Rob Church 2006-07-08 11:34:00 UTC
Please keep requests one per bug. As it happens, some XHTML-type validation does
occur on the signature prior to insertion in a page or upon changes, and invalid
signatures are quietly ignored.

{{subst:REVISIONUSER}} achieves this. Duping up-numbers because the other bug has more interesting comments.
