BUG MIGRATED FROM SOURCEFORGE

<math>\mathrm{ö}</math> or <math>ö</math> will fail to
render (a "lexing error") however the TeX is perfectly
legitimate.

Use mbox, not mathrm:

:\mbox{ö}(x) = x^2/2
:\mbox{ö}'(x) = x

now in graphical

:\mbox{ö}(x) = x^2/2\,\!
:\mbox{ö}'(x) = x\,\!

You can see this (hopefully) at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Sandbox#testing_nonroman_c
haracters_in_math

I think that should be an adequate solution.

Is there still problems? At most this is a duplicate of bug 798
