Description Aryeh Gregor (not reading bugmail, please e-mail directly) 2006-06-11 04:40:51 UTC
Another attribute should be added to <ref>: "text". "Dubious assertion <ref
text="(Bob 2003)">Bob, Robert (2003). ''Book of Bob.'' Nonexistent Press:
Hicksville.</ref>" should produce "Dubious assertion <a href="#_note0">(Bob
2003)</a>", with the appropriate reference under <references />. This would
allow "Harvard-style referencing". Combined with Bug #6271, it would allow
footnotes to be used to clarify points made in the text, and Harvard references
for sources, as is currently used in some enwiki articles (using the rather
clunky {{Harvard ref}}).
