Occasionally, clicking "show preview" may delete large sections of an article
without producing an edit summary. This is "fixed" when the edits are saved,
but is clearly not atomic.
Comment 1 Anthony 2004-10-05 15:26:48 UTC
Possibly related to bug 649.
Comment 2 JeLuF 2004-11-06 08:03:53 UTC
I don't see this related to bug 649. A preview doesn't call merge function.
Actually, it doesn't even save the text.

Can anyone reproduce this behaviour?

Why should a preview produce an edit summary?

>This is "fixed" when the edits are saved, but is clearly not atomic.

What is meant by this? Do you mean to say that clicking the preview button will
save the edit?

Occasionally it does.

Yes, on rare occasions. The history will contain a number of partial edits when
"save page" is clicked.

shows that the last part of the article was lost, which is consistent with bug 1458.
