Please make ULS enabled by default for all Indian language Wikipedias. It was like that till yesterday. From yesterday, ULS is available only after someone enables it from his/her preferences. That means no one can search Indian language Wikipedias without logging in because one can change the preferences only after logging in. This new change is seriously affecting the use of Indian language Wikipedias.

For simplicity's sake, I suppose this means so-called phase 1 wikis: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/UniversalLanguageSelector/Deployment/Planning#List_of_wikis_.2884.29
We (ml.wiki*) have a bit different request: [[bugzilla:60327]]
Ah. Then this gets more complex. Anyway, see bug 46306 comment 115. I'd add "shell" keyword but, while it's already decided that this will be done, it's not clear what the code requirements are so it may be ready for a configuration change or not.
(In reply to comment #0) > Please make ULS enabled by default for all Indian language Wikipedias. It was > like that till yesterday. From yesterday, ULS is available only after someone > enables it from his/her preferences. Universal Language Selector has been disabled on 21-01-2014 to work out some performance issues that had affected the Wikimedia sites. Users who need it can enable it by following: User Preferences -> Internationalisation -> Check the ‘Enable the Universal Language Selector’. More information about this change will be made available shortly.
Re-enabling ULS is currently being worked on - see bug 60329. Sorry this takes longer, but we want to do it right. Please have a few more days of patience. As a workaround is available (see comment 5) this is not considered a "blocker" - see [[mw:Bugzilla/Fields#Severity]].
ULS and IME have been re-enabled by default on all wikis last week, is this bug (also) about enabling webfonts by default?
(In reply to Nemo from comment #7) > ULS and IME have been re-enabled by default on all wikis last week, is this > bug (also) about enabling webfonts by default? Do not include Malayalam wikis (ml.wikis - there was a clear consensus against ULS' webfonts when it was first deployed). Tamil wikis have a similar consensus in their wikis. I think languages using Devanagari script and Bengali also do not need webfonts (they are well supported by various operating systems including Android and iOS)
I am tempted to close this ticket as non-actionable currently, * as it is unclear which parts of ULS functionality were exactly requested by Pavanaja in the initial comment; and * as I would love to see some hint that the reporter has support by the communities of all Indian language Wikipedias (community consensus on each affected wiki) and speaks for them, to make clear that this is not a personal request only. Also see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requesting_wiki_configuration_changes
I requested the ULS to be enabled by default and not webfonts. ULS is needed in Indian language Wikipedias by default. That will allow anyone to search Indian language Wikipedias without logging in. Webfonts may be made available by default. But I am not asking for it. Most people nowadays have one or the other font installed in the system and hence webfont may not be required by default. I, for example, use the system fonts that come in Windows. Thus I suggest - -Make ULS available by default -Webfonts can be made as option
(In reply to Pavanaja U B from comment #10) > Thus I suggest - > -Make ULS available by default > -Webfonts can be made as option Ok, then this is fixed and live since last week. Please open a bug for each project wanting to change settings e.g. by making webfonts enabled by default. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 60304 ***
