Let users with poor eyesight change page's font size in their preferences.

I don't see why users would not change the zoom level in their browser instead. Some browsers (Firefox, maybe more) remember zoom settings on a per-site level. If zoom changes create problems with layout, those layout problems should be fixed instead ("responsive web design").
