I believe there would be a huge user base for a MediaWiki Genealogy Extension. I have created the site linked above manually. Whenever I find new ancestors I have to renumber everyone below that entry. I also manually create links to jump forward in the tree (+ next to ancestors with children), as well as links to edit pages for all ancestors. A web based front end for entry that compiled and produced the wiki genealogy page correctly numbered with links in place would be a dream. Not only for me, but for many, many others I'm sure. The Wiki format is perfect for family participation and discussion. It could live on and grow itself for generations (as long as someone continues to pay for the web host and domain name). Thoughts?
UPDATE: After a little research I found WikiTree and Rodovid - neither of which I believe to be viewer friendly. I would be willing to contract with a programmer to automate entry and formatting of my layout if the price is right. Thanks.
