Description Bryan Davis 2013-11-25 16:57:33 UTC
Tracking bug for production deploy of Wikimania Scholarship application for 2014 Wikimania.
Comment 1 MZMcBride 2013-12-02 22:30:27 UTC
Is this simply a MediaWiki extension? (Where is the code?)

No, it's not.

wikimedia/wikimania-scholarships on gerrit.

No, it's a stand alone php application for collecting the applicant information and providing the scholarship committee an interface to screen and score applications. This has historically been an application that the community developed and hosted for each Wikimania. Starting in 2014 the Foundation will be taking over responsibility for hosting [0].

> (Where is the code?)

The code is now hosted in git/gerrit [1].

Following bug 57572 comment 0, I found <https://git.wikimedia.org/tree/wikimedia%2Fwikimania-scholarships.git/HEAD>. This is not tied to MediaWiki, as I now understand it.

This new application will need documentation on meta.wikimedia.org and/or wikitech.wikimedia.org.

There seems to be a discrepancy between the Git repo name ("scholarships") and the Bugzilla component name ("scholarship"). Hrmph.

Yeah, it will. We're kind of in a sprint phase right now trying to get ready for this year's Wikimania scholarship program.

We can fix BZ easily :)

A mid-air collision, of course. :-)

[[mw:Wikimania Scholarship app]] is kind of a strange location given that this application seems to be unrelated to MediaWiki. That's mostly bikeshedding, though. Thanks for making a page!

Renamed in BZ and on-wiki.
