I have a suggestion that a feature should be added wherein users can set a blacklist where they could add certain editors to the list and those editors would not be able to send them mail via the email feature. A good caveat though would be to make it so administrators (who have obvious reasons to be able to always get in touch with editors) should be able to bypass this blacklist. There could also be a feature where all mail was disabled unless a user was on a whitelist of editors... again with the possible administrative caveat.
Your email client contains a magical hidden option. Often referred to as the "blocked senders" list, this function has been available to the Cabal since 2.5/apple/9. ;)
