We should retriage all bugs in the MediaWiki extensions → Vector component and remove it (or make it impossible to add new bugs there, however Bugzilla does that). There are only 13 open bugs: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=%3Avector

The extension is being phased out per bug 45051.

Closing for new bug entry is a checkbox that I could easily set, however there might still be users for a while who want to report issues against the 1.19,1.20,1.21 branches of that extension?

Hmmm, maybe. I'm not sure if anybody is going to support that, so I'm CC-ing Mark.

Personally I don't think any of the currently reported bugs are severe enough to warrant backporting; the only one reported for older versions is bug 49228 which refers specifically to broken packaging of the 1.21 tarball.
