Description Maarten Dammers 2013-08-25 21:48:11 UTC
https://github.com/wikimedia/WLMMobile is back thanks to Yuvi, please add it as a component to the Wiki Loves Monuments product. Default cc is Yuvi

Component Description: "The Wiki Loves Mobile Android app (https://github.com/wikimedia/WLMMobile). Note: This app is supported by volunteers, not by the WMF mobile team"
Comment 1 Andre Klapper 2013-08-26 09:20:54 UTC
There already is a product for a WLM mobile app at https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=WikiLoves%20Monuments%20Mobile which refers to http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wiki_Loves_Monuments_mobile_application .

I'd first like to sort out what is what here, so we don't duplicate infrastructure and don't confuse users where to file their bug reports.
Clarification welcome.
Comment 2 Andre Klapper 2013-08-26 09:58:04 UTC
Ah, for product=WikiLoves%20Monuments%20Mobile the "Open for bug entry" flag was not set, likely because the app was not supported anymore. I've set it.

A number of tickets in that product got mass-closed as RESOLVED WONTFIX" with the comment:
"Mass-closing WLM app issues as WONTFIX since we won't be maintaining the same
client app in future (will migrate these things to the Commons app)."
Not sure if they should get reopened or not, or if anybody wants to get added or removed from/to the default CC list.

Currently Yuvi is CC'ed on all tickets of WikiLoves%20Monuments%20Mobile, hence also CC'ing him here.

Please clarify.
Comment 4 Maarten Dammers 2013-08-31 15:41:07 UTC
Dear Andre, I don't know why you opened "WikiLoves Monuments Mobile", that's not what we requested and that is not what we want. Please close that one and just add a component to the product Wiki Loves Monuments. Is that clear enough?
Comment 5 Andre Klapper 2013-08-31 15:52:17 UTC
I reenabled it because it is an existing and established place for reports about the mobile WLM application and because I don't like duplication.
*If* this is the same application codebase, then I don't see much sense in having two different places with bug reports to search in, plus many existing WONTFIXed tickets are likely still valid and could be reopened if development has been resurrected.
Comment 6 Yuvi Panda 2013-08-31 16:19:33 UTC
In hindsight, having it as a separate product was a mistake. Having two WLM related things as 'product' is confusing. Can we please, *please*, have the product closed and a component opened? Thank you.
Comment 7 Andre Klapper 2013-08-31 23:32:21 UTC
Thanks for clarifying - very appreciated!

* Closed "WikiLoves Monuments Mobile" product again
* Created component and set Yuvi as default CC. See
  https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=Wiki%20Loves%20Monuments

Closing as FIXED.
Comment 8 Yuvi Panda 2013-09-01 01:10:55 UTC
Thank you very much :)
Comment 9 Andre Klapper 2014-03-07 19:38:07 UTC
And now I'd love to get rid of that closed "WikiLoves Monuments Mobile" product as it is of course still listed under "Products" when searching and clutters the view (plus two "Wiki Loves Monuments" products are confusing, as mentioned above).
I'm tempted to move its 180 closed tickets into "Wiki Loves Monuments > Mobile" as this seems to be exactly the same codebase.
This will create some bugmail though... :-/
