After a user creates a commons.wikimedia account, no welcome message is shown to the user. They are simply returned to the page they were viewing or dropped at the login page. Please fix.
This is not a bug, but is a change that was done intentionally as part of the SUL2 redesign.[1] The original purpose of the MediaWiki:Welcomecreation-msg was to house the icons that log you in across wikis. Now that hacky system has been replaced with something that happens in the background, so there is no reason to force users to go through an interstitial after they login or signup. Unless you want to create a custom welcome page of some kind, that is. There is further discussion on the bug I'm marking this as duplicate of. 1. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/SUL2 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 52373 ***
Only for documentation: After user login the message 'loginsuccess' and the icons was shown, but on account creation 'welcomecreation-msg' and the icons was shown, where welcomecreation-msg contains links to help pages. On the first case, it is okay to skip the message, but the second makes more problems than harm ...
