This post is in reference to the added feature which flashes "Your edit was saved." after saving an edited page. I am using Firefox 22.0 on Win XP & SP3 and proofreading on en.Wikisource. After completion of a page edit, the subsequent .djvu page doesn't load. The only way it works (with a noticeable delay), is either to to click on the clock/cache clear gadget, OR refresh the browser page, several times before opening the page in edit mode. To eliminate the browser issue, I installed Safari and Google Chrome browsers in Win XP, as well as tested Google Chrome alongside FF 22.0 in Linux/XUbuntu. While both Safari and Google Chrome are faster than FF, the delay or no loading happens with them as well. In addition, I tried with a new profile in FF, disabled all add-ons, and with and without a browser cache. Yet there was no improvement to the problem. Finally noticed that the delay, or no load happens when working with large (~900 page) files. This seriously delays my contribution. Would it be possible to optionally turn this feature off? Thank you.
So WS = Wikisource, now I only need to find out what "ns." stands for in the summary. :P
ineuw: Could you clarify? Moving to PostEdit as that's where the confirmation comes from.
Andre Klapper, my apologies for the abbreviations. ns = namespace In this case it's the "Page:" namespace of Wikisource. Also, I get no notices of the posts here, even though my name is on the CC. list. That's why I didn't reply quicker. Furthermore, continued testing within an organized framework. The problem persists and I am convinced that this is a Wikimedia and not a browser issue.

The PostEdit extension is no longer deployed now that that it's in core. :) ineuw: I'm not super familiar with proofreading/editing on Wikisource. Can you give a link to a djvu page that I can try to replicate this issue with?

Steven Walling, Thanks for the reply and here are the steps to take to recreate the issue: Please open the link: http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Index:Popular_Science_Monthly_Volume_17.djvu Scroll down to the pages display and select any group of at least five consecutive pages that are marked in red (not proofread). Beginning with the first page, click to switch to the page display (Page: namespace). Please note the [forward] & [backward] arrows in the upper left. These navigate to the consecutive pages. Click on [Edit] to open "and watch for the loading of the .djvu page." Make any change in the main body of the text and scroll down below the text area and click on [Save]. It may be required to specify a summary (any character will do). [Save] closes [Edit] mode, returns to [Read] mode, and triggers the "Your edit was saved." message. Click the [Right] arrow for the next page while the message is displayed. Click on [Edit] to open the next page and watch for the image being loaded. Some comments: -------------- I use the upper/lower edit mode and not the side by side mode. This means that the image is displayed on top with the editing below. The problem may not appear in the first couple of pages, although the image always loads with a noticeable delay. After awhile, the image no longer loads. I hope this helps, and please ask for any info that;s pertinent.
