The issue with capitalisation has been up there for months ( http://no.wiktionary.org/wiki/Wiktionary:Tinget#Revidering ). Me and the replier are the only ones who have actually edited during that time, and we both agree that capitalisation should be turned off. (Another sysop there who is not active has also agreed, on IRC.) This is especially important since some templates used for inflections use {{PAGENAME}}, which gives a "wrong" result when titles are capitalised.

Would {{lc:PAGENAME}} be a temporary workaround? Is there any need for a {{lc:foo|1}} / {{lc:foo|n}} for changing the first character / first n characters to a lowercase letter? This would allow a much simpler linking from sister projects to Wiktionary. best regards reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
Yeah, {{lc:{{PAGENAME}}}} works (and could be used as a temp. workaround). I don't know if {{lc:foo|n}} would be needed, as there are - AFAIK - no string of capitalised characters that need to be "decapitalised". Thanks.

Not being here for a while. {{lcfirst:{{PAGENAME}}}} is the better solution because it is "more reliable" today. See Bug 5047: Support for UTF-8 characters in {{lc:}}, {{uc:}}, {{lcfirst:}} and {{ucfirst:}} I also do not see a need for {{lc:foo|n}} any more. Thanks to developers for turning off automatic capitalization on Norwegian Wiktionary. best regards reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
