Description David Benbennick 2006-02-12 15:25:10 UTC
[[MediaWiki:Youhavenewmessages]] takes two parameters: a talk page link, and a
diff link. This is not very flexible syntax; the links can't be customized. It
would be better if the message took only one parameter, the relevant user name.

Anyway, if I edit someone's talk page to redirect somewhere offensive, and they
click on the "new messages" link, they get redirected, and the "You have new
messages" box remains. The link should use "redirect=no" to aviod that. (Even
if the redirect wasn't vandalism, you have to use redirect=no to get the new
messages box to go away.)
