Description p_simoons 2006-02-03 16:41:23 UTC
For instance, suppose we have page [[Foo]] that contains some links to
[[Foo#bar]] and [[Foo#quux]]. Such links are frequently generated from footnotes.

Now suppose that [[WP:FOO]] redirects to [[Foo]]. If we open the page from
WP:FOO, we get the Foo page with the "redirected from" message. However, any
click on any internal links on the page causes the page to be reloaded (from
[[Foo]] this time) rather than simply move the browser a couple of screens down.
Comment 1 Brion Vibber 2006-02-03 18:16:32 UTC
If you did that on purpose, you probably should have used [[#bar]] rather than
explicit [[Foo#bar]].
