We would like to create a "hiphop" mailing list, initially to discuss development issues related to migrating the Wikimedia cluster to the HipHop VM. Currently the HipHop team doesn't have a public developers mailing list. We met with several of the HipHop developers, and they agreed that it would be a good idea to have one. I suggested that we might be able to host said mailing list; hence, this request. The scope of said mailing list may evolve to be a general mailing list to discuss other public porting efforts (e.g. WordPress, etc). For now, we imagine that the list will focus on Wikimedia's needs.
And here's me thinking this was the first fake mailing list request that I'd come across. :-) I'm happy to create this - please could you confirm the email addresses of two list administrators?

And Chad seems to be the perfect volunteer, especially after he just moved on from Wikitech-l. ;-) Publicly archived open list created at <https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/hiphop>, I've sent you the list admin password and added a terse phrase and description for the list - feel free to adjust those as you see fit. P.S. If Chad doesn't want to be a list admin feel free to switch him for someone else too. :-)
I imagine it'll be pretty low maintenance, I'll gladly keep an eye on things.
