The diff function used to compare revisions in wikipedia 
displays using different line widths at different times.
Sometimes the width chosen is so wide that up to
half of the text is hidden off to the right of the window
and the scroll bar has to be used.  Even then, the two
revisions being diffed cannot be seen in the window at
the same time because the left side then scrolls out of view.
