Open Firefox, make sure you log out both on www.wikidata.org and wikidata.org, then go to www.wikidata.org If you now go to www.wikidata.org and click on log in, and give your credentials, then submit, then you should be logged in. Go to Main page in sidebar and you are logged out. Note that the subdomain is gone when you are at the Main page. If you starts the log in sequence on wikidata.org, then you will be logged in and when you go to the Main page you are still logged in. Adding a link [[d:Q1]] to a Wikipedia page and following that link would make you land on http://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1, and if you are logged in on Wikipedia you will then not be logged in on Wikidata. The reason is that you are logged in on wikidata.org, not on www.wikidata.org. This mess makes it difficult for users to jump around on the Wikimedia sites.
Not ready for shell. Isn't this a dupe of bug 45005?
