In a dictionary words are either capitalised or they are not. The title of an article should reflect the word that is being described. Both de: and nl: wiktionary do not want to have automtic capitalisation of the first character. People have decided for de: and nl: that they cannot have it. The arguments are not clear why not. They have not been published on either the mailinglist or on Meta. As time goes by, the amount of work to correct this wrong state of affairs will increase. Changes to a different search algorithm have little to do with this issue; a case insensitive search is a nice to have, this is a must have. Thanks, GerardM
