With $wgUseInstantCommons = true it is possible, that a windows host must save thumbs of files with nonascii letters like german umlauts. For example: [[File:Amazone_-_Al_Hansen_-_Kölnisches_Stadtmuseum-5054.jpg]] But the system creates a folder: thumb\1\1b\Amazone_-_Al_Hansen_-_Kölnisches_Stadtmuseum-5054.jpg with a thumb file: 437px-Amazone_-_Al_Hansen_-_Kölnisches_Stadtmuseum-5054.jpg You see, that the german umlauts is broken, which results in a broken image. Changing ö to the correct letter (ö) shows the image, so there is only a problem while saving the thumb to the hard disk, not for showing it. Trying to upload a file with a german umlauts results in error message 'windows-nonascii-filename'. Need a idea or a warning for this files, when it is shown or used.
