Description James Taylor 2005-12-14 20:35:05 UTC
It would be great if the ip address was saved with each edit that a user made. That way if I had a
problem I could easily look back in time and with the help of an isp, track down a user that didn't
provide a real name or email address. Additionally, the ip would show up on recent changes for a
user if viewed by a sysop. I think recording this type of information on a per edit basis will be
more an more important vis-a-vis new potential liability concerns for wiki owners/admins.

The functionality already exist, turn on IP logging on your wiki
Comment 2 Rob Church 2005-12-14 20:43:36 UTC
That is, set $wgPutIPinRC = true; in LocalSettings.php. See
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Configuration_settings#Recent_changes for
more info.
