Created attachment 11472 [details] Patch to add e-mail notification reference to the Watchlist preference tab The Preferences->Watchlist tab does not refer to the following option: [ ] E-mail me when a page on my watchlist is changed Because that option is set (and listed) under the E-Mail section in Preferences->User Profile. This patch attempts add this link so users know that this Watchlist E-mail notification option exists. Note: I'm not sure if this patch is correct, as I cannot test it at this time. For example, it sets default to ''.

If a link is added i'd prefer that it be more of a "symbolic link" so that it can be toggled on or off from either location, and the values are synced. I do have some concern over preference creep, where we add more and more thing to the user prefs, including things that are duplicated in multiple screens. We (design) would love to do an audit of preferences based on the new analytics we're tracking on them to reduce the amount of options and reorganize things into fewer, but more logical buckets. In this specific case my recommendation would be to have a link associated with the watchlist preferences that says something like "Notification options" that goes to the section where the controls exist now.

I'm not sure what new analytics you're referring to, but this is bug 52807 (more specifically <https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/showdependencytree.cgi?id=52807&hide_resolved=1>).
