I ran into http://prototype.wikimedia.org/ today. It says "This is a test wiki used for testing MediaWiki release candidates (currently: 1.19wmf1 (r112647))." Assuming that Labs has superseded this, please take it down so no newbie tester assumes that this is really a current release test wiki.
Filed as RT #3801. Note to myself: No open tickets left under product=Wikimedia and component=Prototype server, but I should update the description to redirect folks to some other place. Chris: What to recommend to people instead - use test2? labs? Any URL?
The last project on prototype was AFTv5, and AFTv5 is now enabled for 100% of beta labs enwiki. prototype should be killable, but I'd check with Matthias Mullie (at least) before destroying it completely.
(In reply to comment #2) > prototype should be killable, but I'd check with Matthias Mullie (at least) > before destroying it completely. CC'ing Matthias - do you still use proptotype for anything?
We no longer use it!
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:TimedMediaHandler/TestPlan links to http://prototype.wikimedia.org/timedmedia resp. http://prototype.wikimedia.org/tmh/ for testcases. Michael: Is that content that should be moved to e.g. mediawiki or betalabs before killing prototype.wm.org? If yes, could you do that?
the content is already moved to pages like: http://test2.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:JanGerber/sandbox and labs test pages. feel free to kill prototype as far as TMH is concerned.
Daniel is working on this: It is all gone from DNS minus a few exceptions.
RT-3801 ok... killing a whole bunch from DNS , except the raskin (Mac OS X) and tesla. and mgmt itself so we can still shutdown VMs.. root@sockpuppet:~/pdns-templates# svn diff Index: wikimedia.org =================================================================== --- wikimedia.org (revision 3819) +++ wikimedia.org (working copy) @@ -775,25 +775,13 @@ ; new tesla virt cluster $ORIGIN tesla.$zonename. -testvm1 1H IN A 208.80.153.194 - ; Usability servers $ORIGIN usability.$zonename. -build.tesla 1H IN A 208.80.152.250 -ci.tesla 1H IN A 208.80.152.246 -ci2.tesla 1H IN A 208.80.152.247 -commonsprototype.tesla 1H IN A 208.80.152.249 -mlqt.tesla 1H IN A 208.80.152.237 -mobile.tesla 1H IN A 208.80.152.245 -nomad.tesla 1H IN A 208.80.152.244 -nova-controller.tesla 1H IN A 208.80.152.236 -prototype.tesla 1H IN A 208.80.152.248 raskin 1H IN A 208.80.152.253 tesla 1H IN A 208.80.152.252 tesla.mgmt 1H IN A 208.80.152.251 -test-payments.tesla 1H IN A 208.80.152.235 ; Amsterdam cluster Index: 152.80.208.in-addr.arpa =================================================================== --- 152.80.208.in-addr.arpa (revision 3816) +++ 152.80.208.in-addr.arpa (working copy) @@ -219,16 +219,8 @@ 232 1H IN PTR alsted.wikimedia.org. 233 1H IN PTR harmon.wikimedia.org. 234 1H IN PTR web.amaranth.toolserver.org. -235 1H IN PTR test-payments.tesla.usability.wikimedia.org. -236 1H IN PTR nova-controller.tesla.usability.wikimedia.org. -237 1H IN PTR mlqt.tesla.usability.wikimedia.org. 239 1H IN PTR internproxy.wikimedia.org. -244 1H IN PTR nomad.tesla.usability.wikimedia.org. - -248 1H IN PTR prototype.tesla.usability.wikimedia.org. -249 1H IN PTR commonsprototype.tesla.usability.wikimedia.org. - 251 1H IN PTR tesla.mgmt.usability.wikimedia.org. 252 1H IN PTR tesla.usability.wikimedia.org. 253 1H IN PTR raskin.usability.wikimedia.org. --- alright, it is all gone from DNS minus the exceptions above... (In reply to comment #8) > we are just waiting a little while for any complaints before we nuke data Enough waited, I consider this fixed. Thanks everybody!
