At the first this bug is not about Mobile app or WikiMedia's Mobile Interface In IOS and Android OS for contributing in normal view (computer view) WikiMedia has a problem. Mobile apps and mobile interface doesn't have any possibility to contribute like computer view so users who has tablets or smart phones for edit or making new pages or answering their user talk page should use computer interface and in some cases it is impossible! The major problem. For subsection which is long, adding comment or new post isn't possible because each tap or zooming means refreshing page and WikiMedia set the focus to the first of the text. Selecting the middle or end of text is impossible (I test it in Iphone, Ipad, android tablets and smart phones) In my opinion we should add possibility when user connects with smart phone or tablet it doesn't change focus for each tap or page zooming.
Hi reza, could you please provide an exact example (URL / web address of a specific page) where this happens, and the exact steps (step by step / click by click) how to reproduce the problem, and on which hardware and system and system version this happens? For example sentences like "For subsection which is long, adding comment or new post isn't possible" aren't clear to me unfortunately. Thanks in advance!
i.e. please try to add comment or answer the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Main_Page#Errors_in_the_summary_of_today.27s_or_tomorrow.27s_featured_article by iphone or android! problem when I wanted writing an answer to subsections that they had many lines (more than device's screen size) it needs to scroll to going down. at that case when I click or tap in the last line when I want to type it will change the cursor's place (specially in android 4.01)

I guess you click edit and then try to scroll down to add a new comment. > For subsection which is long, adding comment or new post isn't possible > because each tap or zooming means refreshing page and WikiMedia set the > focus to the first of the text. First line, or first what? :) > Selecting the middle or end of text is impossible (I test it in Iphone, > Ipad, android tablets and smart phones) But Android and iPhone normally *have* a mode to mark text, e.g. for copying? (I admit that my phones run other systems, hence the question.)

(I think it is safary's bug) > > > For subsection which is long, adding comment or new post isn't possible > > because each tap or zooming means refreshing page and WikiMedia set the > > focus to the first of the text. > > First line, or first what? :) Fist line of the edit page (specially in android) > > > Selecting the middle or end of text is impossible (I test it in Iphone, > > Ipad, android tablets and smart phones) > > But Android and iPhone normally *have* a mode to mark text, e.g. for copying? > (I admit that my phones run other systems, hence the question.) Yes they have but when cursor is not in the correct place it with past the text at the middle of the text instead of end!
(In reply to comment #4) > Yes they have but when cursor is not in the correct place it with past the text > at the middle of the text instead of end! But this is about pasting, I asked about marking text only and why this doesn't work. Anyway, maybe I should leave this to somebody who has such devices to retest.
work steps with android Galexy S3 chrome and default browser (bug is the same) os version 4.01 editing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:SPhotographer/textcase I want to add text to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:SPhotographer/textcase#Topic_raised_at_FAC:_the_notes_with_calculations by android 1-according to the bug if i click edit subsection or edit page it will be the same 2-I scrol down to the end of "Topic raised at FAC: the notes with calculations" section. 3-I am trying to type some text at the last line of page but it will focus to the first line. 4-it is only possible to add text to last line of mobile's screen!

On HTC Thunderbolt 4.04 I'm able to edit different parts of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Main_Page#Positioning_of_images on the desktop version of the site. 1. On my phone I went to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Main_Page and was redirected to the mobile site. 2. At the bottom of that page I selected 'Desktop' to view the page as the desktop version. 3. I looked for a subsection with more text than the size of my screen, which happened to be Positioning of images. 4. I selected 'edit' to edit that subsection. In the edit page I can select the edit frame by tapping on some text in that frame. This brings up my keyboard. The cursor is not always placed in the exact area I tapped, but it is not refocused to the first line, either. Once the focus is on the edit frame, I can scroll within that frame by swiping my finger up or down on that frame, and I can move the cursor by tapping on the text that I want to edit.
@reza1615, do you still experience this problem ? Are you trying this logged out or logged in ?
