Description Vito Genovese 2012-06-23 21:19:48 UTC
Hello,

On behalf of our community, I'd like to request that FlaggedRevs is enabled on Turkish Wikipedia (without the "Reviewer" user group). Here is a link to the discussion as well as the decision, which was unanimous:

http://tr.wikiquote.org/wiki/Vikis%C3%B6z:K%C3%B6y_%C3%A7esmesi#Vikis.C3.B6z_i.C3.A7in_s.C3.BCr.C3.BCm_kontrol.C3.BC

or

Thank you in advance, and cheers!

Vito

Hello Vito,

Thank you for your request.

There are 4 rights this extension add:

* review – user can review revisions
* validate – user can review revisions and can set all tags to all levels
* autoreview – any new revisions made by the user are automatically marked as sighted
* unreviewedpages – user can view [[Special:UnreviewedPages]]

Here how the extension automatically change MediaWiki groups and rights in the default configuration.

First, it adds two groups:

* The reviewer group you don't want grant to a user the 'review' and 'validate' permissions.
* There is another group, called editor we have review, autoreview and unreviewedpages (but not validate).

Then, it configures rights assignments to allow bureaucrats to add/remove editors/reviewers and sysops the editors.
_______________

I assume you would like the editor group to also be deleted from the default configuration, don't you?

If so, which rights should be assigned to sysops, which ones to regular users?

Hi Dereckson,

Thank you very much for this very informative response. I have quite an experience with the extension as well as the rights associated with it; but still, very kind of you :)

What we want is basically the standard settings with "Reviewer" removed. As you know much better than I do, the only difference between Reviewers and Editors is the "validate" right, and we will not use it.

Everything else should be as if the standard settings were enabled.

I also would like to bug you about a "group rights revision proposal" we've got going on Turkish Wikipedia, but I'll do this over e-mail.

And about this one right here; please feel free to ask anything you'd like, if it's not clear. I could go over it right by right.

Cheers

Vito

I'm sorry. Is this on hold or something?
Comment 4 matanya 2012-07-22 18:25:36 UTC
Dereckson, any progress here?
Comment 5 Alex Monk 2012-07-22 18:38:36 UTC
Since Dereckson seems to have forgotten about this change, I've put it up for review in Gerrit change #16264
Comment 6 Alex Monk 2012-07-23 12:30:07 UTC
Done. Please make a new comment here or email me if there are any problems.
Comment 7 Vito Genovese 2012-07-23 12:41:19 UTC
Thank you, Krenair. I'll be keeping in touch with the only active sysop (User:Vitruvian) of the project, and report back any problems that may be encountered.
