When you attempt to edit something using VisualEditor but you're blocked, in Chrome a "Error loading data from server: error. Would you like to retry?" dialog appears instead of the expected MediaWiki:Blockedtext or MediaWiki:Globalblocking-ipblocked error message(s).

I can only reproduce this via the proxy site that the reporter was using was broken in that accessing /w/api.php gave a 404. That same proxy site had similar issues with other URLs as well, and threw a few dozen 404s for every page load.

Closing this as INVALID, feel free to reopen if this or a similar issue can be reproduced without using a proxy site.
