Hi! en.WP and many other WP's which are using clones / variants of [[template:Authority control]] are providing a link to WorldCat.org at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Einstein#normdaten. Please note that http://www.worldcat.org/identities/lccn-n79-22889 and http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/lccn-n79-22889 are showing nearly the same information. VIAF numbers which are not known at LoC (sometimes mentioned as LC and other times LCCN) it is possible to identify "/identities/" urls from the VIAF number. This guess / search is easier as the standard http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/find?fullName=Petrosian%2C+Tigran whih may fail with UTF-8 characters. a) identification of candidates using VIAF numbers: http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf-101695361# from VIAF:101695361 http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf-100527838# from VIAF:100527838 http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf-11025031# from VIAF:11025031 Please label the link "¿orlabs?" "ALT"-text: "orlabs candidate" link trailer: "#" ---- should not be implemented: b) identification of candidates using GND / PND numbers: http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf-DNB%7C108794229 from GND:108794229 this is an "oclc.org--redirect" to http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf-12857285# http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf-DNB%7C120350890 from GND:120350890 this is a (multiple) "oclc.org--redirect" to http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf-171120706# Best regards Reinhardt Note: The parameter used to support these vaules in [[template:Authority control]] is "|WORLDCATID=viaf-101695361". The "|" character can not be used without url encoding in templates. This is why some template clones are using "|WORLDCATID-URL-TYPE=124".
Clarification request: What *exactly* do you want me to implement ?
For Pedersen, Michael ::VIAF:164967251:: http://www.librarything.com/author/pedersenmichael&norefer=1&all=1 I identified a WolrdCat = orlabs.oclc.org link http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf-164967251 It can be used in authority control templates using |WORLDCATID=viaf-164967251| syntax. ---- From any VIAF number one can generate a link labeled "¿orlabs?" "ALT"-text: "orlabs candidate" link trailer: "#" protocol is http:// - ( https:// does not work for me https://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf-164967251 ) The link is generated from the following parts: http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf- (the value of the VIAF number) an ending / safety trailer "#". Thanks in advance!
Short version (pls. always say what you want in few words) On page http://www.librarything.com/author/pedersenmichael&norefer=1&all=1 please detect link http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf-(VIAF) Please generate a link labeled "¿orlabs?" + "ALT"-text: "orlabs candidate" + http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf-(VIAF)#
fixed in r115402 version 1.20
Thanks! A positive site effect: at http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf-164967251#VIAF I can see also and bookmark http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/viaf-167777947#VIAF
The google links are broken since four days. As mentioned in a private email "safety trailer" relate to the target domains. these are: I am not familiar with style, .css etc. I assume that you are using classes for the inserted links. google.com with "&spell=0" (but never ever with an anchor) foo.librarything.bar with "#vIAf" or "#gNd" (context depending) http://viaf.org/viaf/ foobar with "/" - this is the site default; please do not use "/#VIAF"; http://orlabs.oclc.org/identities/ with "#vIAf" (only for transitions from $VIAF but not from $GND) toolserver.org - $VIAF or $GND context depending with "#vIAf" or "#gNd" toolserver.org - "magenta redirects" - please use international / English "#wpidentities" instead of "#normdaten" http://d-nb.info/gnd/ please use the site default "/about/html" (not "/#PND") opacplus.bib-bvb.de today "#PND" please use "#gNd" for the request from bug 36985 the safety trailer is "#" Best regards Reinhardt
This is scope creeping. Please open a new bug. Try harder to concentrate to the essence in two..three short sentences. File *one* bug for each single request you have.
