* Access [[Special:Categories]] and type something to search for (i.e. Linguistics) and click Search
* Click on the "500" link in order to get a page with 500 categories
* The list starts from the beginning and not from "Linguistics"
* The URL becomes:

http//.................?title=Special:Categories&offset=&limit=500

Apparently, reverting r113415 fixes this.
