Please, add option to show custom template to an user that have recently finished your subscription to website running mediawiki. This template may contain custom instructions and rules. And, in this feature, send a copi of that messagem to email adress, if user inserted any in subscription.

The message displayed on the screen after creating an account should state that it is identical to the e-mail, but only if an e-mail was actually sent. The e-mail should state that it is identical to the message displayed on-screen.
Perhaps there is already such a feature - enabled by editing one of the pages in the MediaWiki namespace?
As the increasing new user everyday at wikipedias especially newbies, this feature will greatly help the welcoming committee.
I'm thinking this should be a nice, clean extension. If there's demand for it, we can switch it on on applicable Wikimedia wikis.
Actually, we can use the MediaWiki:welcomecreation message for this, but the message only appeared for couple of seconds before automatically redirected to Main Page. If only mw can disable the auto redirection and put something like "Click here to go to Main page" so that there will be enough time for people to read instructions. That would be a perfect solution.
Aww but that would take out the fun of giving personal greetings. :\

I read the original request as being, "please add in X functionality so we can leave Y welcome message on the talk pages of each new user" - if that is not the case, please summarise it properly and change the focus of this bug report.
The talk page should simply have a link and short message to whatever page is displayed immediately after creating the account.

I only suggested another alternatif regarding the request "automatic Y welcome message on the talk pages of each newly created account". I think disabling the automatic redirecting on welcome page (the special page use MediaWiki:welcomecreation) is far more easy then creating new module to implement the original request. In which both have the same purpose. If you disable the timeout redirect on welcome page, then sysop can put a lot of information on it such as: 1. Instructions for newbies. 2. The welcoming comittee you can ask questions - Sysop1 (talk) - Sysop2 (talk) - Sysop3 (talk) 3. Click here to go to Main page. And, since there is no specific welcome message send to user_talk page automatically, people can still send their own personal greetings (in reply to comment #7).
I've removed the auto redirect on account creation. Please decide whether or not the auto-welcoming feature is still required, and if so, please post an extension request.
