Description Amir E. Aharoni 2012-01-18 23:11:05 UTC
If a page is already saved, the "Save page" button appears grayed-out. The reason for graying out is not completely clear to the user, because it's possible that she doesn't remember that she saved it.

It should rather say something like "Saved page" instead of just being grayed-out.

Better yet, if the online version is newer than the saved version, the user may want to update the saved version. So the button can say "update saved page" and pressing it will save the current online version, overwriting the old saved version.

Note that with the present caching code there's no obvious way to update an item that's been cached. :P We'll need to change that...

Brings up the question, given some of the problems with the Save page button, should we just keep it turned on and allow users to save the page no matter what?

We could do what Phil suggested, that'll actually save us a lot of headaches :D

Go for it.
