Description Brion Vibber 2012-01-04 19:25:07 UTC
Amazon's Appstore is the primary way to get at Android apps on the Kindle Fire, and can be a secondary way of getting apps on other Android devices where people have chosen to install it.

It would be nice to have our app available through this channel as well as Google's Market, which is unavailable on the Fire.

[We have already stubbed out the 'Near me' feature to fail semi-gracefully when Google Maps proprietary APIs are unavailable, which should meet Amazon's requirements, though it'll be nice if we can get the feature working using a nice web API instead.]

Yup, lets stash this in the launch plan.

Should this be 'blocking' 1.1?

No, this should never block a release.
Comment 5 Yuvi Panda 2012-04-12 03:28:31 UTC
There is nothing blocking this now, btw - since we no longer have a Google dependency
Comment 6 Yuvi Panda 2012-06-24 13:31:39 UTC
Mind if I push this out myself when I have the time? I can sign apps now...

Amit already took care of it. Resolving.
