The new feature of the - of course, very smart - license selector, which can be customized at MediaWiki:Licenses, only works safely with some strictly standards compliant browsers. You can have a look at the visual differences of interpretation; just compare the image given as the reference URL (see explanation there) with http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Commons-license-selection.png So if one uses a browser that allows to choose a header line instead of only a line with a license tag behind, one can successfully upload images with actually no license added - by accident - and most users don't notice their "fault". This already happened several times on the projects and produced discontentment. This request is of interest, particularly with regard to the widely used IE, but also to some other browsers as Safari and Konqueror. So please add something which guarantees that such an accidentally wrong selection becomes impossible; best for (nearly) all browsers.
