When browsing Wikipedia in any language, clicking on W goes to the English home page. In addition, it also seems to go an old home page, as in bug 33281.

Is this after using the 'Change Language' functionality? Or after changing language in 'settings'?

The W consistently goes to the right main page for me. It's actually how i test right after i switch a language. If there is a caching issue .. lets open up another bug.
