Description Srikanth Logic 2011-12-18 18:59:36 UTC
When i enter through mobile,

1. The english char doesnt get overwritten and I get a mixture of english and lang chars as i type. Also the lang char appears, but cursor is still between english char i input and lang char appears and it ceases to work post that.

2. The converstion happens based on the pause i give while typing. I could type whole vikkippedia without the transformation happening.

3. It doesnt work with T9 dictionary mode on (but i guess this is kind of expected)

Supporting symbian might be least of priorities, but can someone check if this bug exists on other modern smart phones.

OS : Symbian S60 v3 FP1
Browser : Opera Mobile 11.10.1584

Added browser details to summary.

What site are you testing the IME on, so others can try reproducing it?

Note that Opera Mobile 11.5 is out for S60, so please try updating and testing that as well if it runs on your device.

Thanks for note on Opera update, have updated and now using Opera Mobile 11.5 (Asian language support). The above said issues exist. I tested on the oriya wikipedia (normal version, since narayam is yet to enabled on mobile sites), url updated.

Marking bug 33176 as dependent since my friends with android cant test properly since webfonts dont load up / no native support in most devices.

But this doesnt stop one from testing on android. Its okay if they see boxes as they type. The thing that needs to be tested is conversion of keystrokes into unicode chars with above mentioned cases (and possibly more).

Test result on Motorola defy+ running android 2.3.4. Android stock browser.

vikkipedia gives this http://t.co/pocumSfh This is a variant of bug 1 mentioned in description. Thanks to @justjkk

Updating summary since its not specific to Opera Mobile / S60 and making it more specific

Narayam works peacefully on HTC 7 Trophy running Windows Phone, Couldnt verify the validity of text since WebFonts doesnt work. Has none of the above issues mentioned.
