The following error message gets shown: "Warning: Parameter 3 to wfRenderHTMLet() expected to be a reference, value given in /.../includes/parser/Parser.php on line 3470"

It looks like this was fixed in r67215 back in June 2010.

Try downloading a fresh copy of the HTMLets extension?

One of these days. I did, but I moved it to the wrong wiki. Shame on me. :(
