Given a handful of presets lets allow our users to donate what they can.

We'll have to support more apps and "donation levels" are completely arbitrary. Right now there's no difference between someone who donates $5 and someone who donates $25. They're both valued donations and we don't want anyone to get the idea "Oh my donation wasn't good enough." I support in-app donation, but it should be a single app to do it.
-1 on paid versions for donations. Look very awkward + dilute our search results. I'm sure the fundraising team would love us if we pile some more work on them :) :D
Currently not planning to do this.
